THEME

With the trend of the Internet applications, e-Learning has shown its significance along with various learning activities in
more convenient ways. Followed by this tendency, many well-known e-learning applications and related infrastructures were
proposed to regulate those digitalized learning activities in standardized manners. On the other hand, the courseware authoring
could be considered as the fundamental process while realizing an e-learning environment. As a result, the applicable scope and
the user-friendliness should be taken into account for supporting efficient learning contents development. The overall aim of this
special session is to provide a forum for academic and industry professionals to discuss recent progress in methods and technology
concerning the e-learning community. Submitted papers are encouraged to cover the following topics. (Note that, Topics include
but are not limited to the follows)

  • Learning Technologies: include the establishment of e-learning infrastructures, e-learning standards and specifications,
    e-learning applications, mobile learning systems, learning management system, and other technologies of distance education.

  • Intelligent Technologies: include intelligent tutoring, personalized learning, branded learning, automatic FAQ methodologies,
    copyright protection and authentication mechanisms, and the related.

  • Educational Technologies: include practical and new learning models, automatic assessment methods, effective and efficient
    authoring systems, and other issues of distance education.

 

In addition, experiences of distance learning systems and programs are encouraged.

Paper Submission Due Date: 10th Sep. 2008
Acceptance Notification Date: 25st Sep. 2008
Final Camera-Ready Due Date: 5th Oct. 2008

MANUSCRIPT FORMAT
Not to exceed 6 single-spaced and two-column 8.5 x 11-inch pages (including figures, tables and references) in 10-12 point font.
Include an abstract, five to ten keywords, the technical area(s) most relevant to your paper, and the corresponding author's e-mail
address. Please download ICS official style file in DOC format following the link http://ics2008.csie.tku.edu.tw. Submissions
should represent original, substantive research results. We will not accept any paper which, at the time of submission, is under
review for or has already been published (or accepted) for publication in another conference or journal venue.

SUBMISSION DETAILS
Submitted papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. All
papers will be refereed by at least two members of the program committee. Please prepare your paper in PDF(Adobe format) files,
